TEPHRI-TRAP® is an open Trap so; when you use it for mass trapping you must use a killing agent. When you use it for monitoring a piece of double face-glued paper (8cm. x 8cm.) can be hung on the top. Thus you will not have any problems with predators (Ants and wasps, etc.). In Spain this TEPHRI TRAP is registered exclusivily for monitoring. It is free for other countries to use it  for mass trapping. The traps must be placed well in advance of the fruit colour change, at a height between 1,5 – 2 m. In the south side of the tree canopy leaving it visible by removing foliage if necessary. It must be left in place until well after the harvest. The number of traps to be use depends on the farmer, but a distance of 15 – 20 m. is most advisable. When renewing the liquid attractants, please do not throw it on the ground in the orchard, as you would be creating an attraction point for the files and making the traps less effective. The trap is registered as a “clean” method for pest control. All the flies killed by this method will be reducing the use of insecticide and will improve the chances of offering healthy fruit to the consumer. TEPHRI TRAP*
